It is a BS recommendation because we now know it spreads via aerosols that can stay suspended in the air for hours. No distance is enough if you're in an enclosed space with poor ventilation.

Also, distancing guidelines haven't been a thing for some time.

Metric distance should be more correct since Covid escaped from a Chinese lab.

Flu like with headaches suggests encephalitis/meningitis to me, which can be caused by a number of emerging pathogens in that region.

Of course, not. Nothing is ever 100% certain.
