So the vaccine and the politicization of the vaccine didn't start under Trump.

Considering COVID was the disease, not the virus, that was a true statement. Then, it turns out, independent researchers found evidence that it also reduced transmission/infection by decreasing the viral loads in the URT of infected people, thus decreasing transmission.
Buuuuut, predictably, that effect waned over time as successive waves of new strains spread to attain dominance.
