Elon Musk Sues Advertisers for Not Buying Ads

Elon Musk's social media platform X has sued a group of advertisers, alleging that a "massive advertiser boycott" deprived the company of billions of dollars in revenue and violated antitrust laws. The company formerly known as Twitter filed the lawsuit Tuesday in a federal court in Texas against the World Federation of Advertisers and member companies Unilever, Mars, CVS Health and Orsted. It accused the advertising group's initiative, called the Global Alliance for Responsible Media, of helping to coordinate a pause in advertising after Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion in late 2022 and overhauled its staff and policies.

Good luck with that.

LOL!

No better way to attract business than to sue your customers. I can just imagine the companies running over each other to spend their advertising dollars at sheeter.

It's just weird. - Gov Tim Walz

Musk's customers should be suing him.

He stuck Hertz with 100,000 cars, and they are losing money hand over fist.

Musk has never bought an ad on the Drudge Retort.

TIME TO CALL MY LAWYER.

Elmo is filing this in Kacsmaric's court, I would bet dollars to Donuts that Musk wins in this fascist friendly venue before being overturned easily on appeal. SCOTUS will refuse to hear it because it's so stupid that only Thomas and Alito would consider it.

These are the pigs that don't want the government to interfere with business... except when they sue... which is using the government to interfere with business.

So what he is saying, is that private enterprises shouldn't have
the authority to determine how and where they spend their money,
or for what 'causes' they deem fit to support or not?

And yet here's the same man who kicked the liberals out of Twitter,
and muffled the rest who remained, and is hurling millions of dollars
at the Trump campaign.

Hypocrisy much?!

#7 Sissy SpaceX only likes free speech when he agrees with the message.

He is putting on a clinic about how "capitalists" line up behind fascists when it financially benefits them.

No different than the trump family doing business with Hitler.

BREAKING: Elon Musk tells advertisers to "go f**k" themselves if they are going to try and blackmail him on his own platform. And this is exactly why Elon was the perfect person to buy Twitter ""If somebody's gonna try to blackmail me with advertising, blackmail me with ... pic.twitter.com/33dPDu8wZC" Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) November 29, 2023

A trip down memory lane: ""If somebody's gonna try to blackmail me with advertising, blackmail me with money, go f**k yourself. But go f**k yourself. Is that clear? I hope it is." Hard to believe that advertisers didn't find this sort of talk from Elmo endearing.

So a group formed specifically to protect brand image when advertising because of things just like what has happened to Twitter, can't recommend where their members advertise now... And Musk is pro-free speech and the SCOTUS ruled years ago money = speech.

I see.
