I mentioned/asked in another thread...

How many songs has the Trump campaign used illegally so far?

#1 | Posted by LampLighter at 2024-08-24 08:17 PM

For example...

French artist Woodkid calls out Donald Trump for illegal use of (LGBT+) song
www.euronews.com

... Donald Trump seems hell-bent on (illegally) using Woodkid's song 'Run Boy Run'. However, proving once more that the presidential nominee has no idea what he's doing, the track is an LGBT+ anthem that clashes with MAGA stances.

French singer-songwriter and video director Woodkid has already asked for Donald Trump to stop using one of his songs during campaign rallies. But the message, first sent last December, seems to have fallen on deaf ears. ...

@#3

OK, from the first couple three entries in that article...

...

Adele stated that Trump did not have permission to use her songs

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith demanded that Trump stop playing "Dream On"

George Harrison's estate denounced the use of the Harrison-written Beatles song "Here Comes the Sun" after the Trump campaign used the song

Bruce Springsteen opposed Trump using his song "Born in the U.S.A." at Trump's political rallies
...

And that is just the first few citations.

Wow.

Why does fmr Pres Trump's campaign seem to be so eager in breaking the law?

Trump's a thief, a huckster, a fraud, a liar, and needs to be sued into oblivion for his arrogance for continuing to use and for not respecting these artist's work.

Privilege.
Entitlement.
Arrogance.
Disrespect.

And if you say anything they'll cry out how they are the true aggrieved victims.

@#6 ... Trump's a thief, a huckster, a fraud, a liar ...

Well, yeah.

Living in the NYC media area, I have been subject to fmr Pres Trump since the 90's.

What I still cannot wrap my head around ... is why fmr Pres Trump has the cult following he seems to have?

And, when I ask that question, the response is usually silence from the supporters of fmr Pres Trump.

#1 ~ Trump is no hero and #2 ~ Trump cheats at everything he does, and the law means nothing to him.

Trump has a "so sue me" attitude and usually gets away with it.

From the Wiki "On August 28, 2020, Leonard Cohen's estate issued a statement criticizing Trump's unauthorized use of Cohen's "Hallelujah" at the Republican National Convention. They said they specifically rejected permission for its use, and would have only realistically considered approving Cohen's song "You Want It Darker".[40]"

Bold added by me

First three lines of You want it Darker
"If you are the dealer, I'm out of the game
If you are the healer, it means I'm broken and lame
If thine is the glory, then mine must be the shame"

Great f'in song but not really a hype song for a political rally.

I'll wager patriot Lee Greenwood got paid for the use of his music and image ...
