First Graders of Sandy Hook Will Vote in November

It's a monumental moment that has given some survivors hope for change, nearly 12 years after 26 first graders and educators were killed in the shooting.

... Grace Fischer survived the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School by staying quiet and huddled, as her first grade teacher softly read "The Nutcracker."

Then she spent the rest of her childhood watching mostly from the sidelines as dozens of similar shootings shattered other schools across the country.

Now 18, Fischer will vote in her first presidential election in November. It's a monumental moment, nearly 12 years after she endured one of the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history, and it has given her and her peers hope that they can effect change.

Newtown, CT was basically a GOP-leaning town since the late 50's (maybe longer). They voted for fmr Pres Trump in 2012, but not in the subsequent two elections.

Thanks for a very hopeful story of great courage. I wish them all well, I wish we lived in an America that could look at the problem of mass murders with assault rifles and to what many countries have done. But that would deprive the "trained militia" of mass murderers of their Constitutional right to carry weapons of war to kill fellow Americans.
