The Democrats banked on women, youth and people of color propelling Kamala Harris to the presidency, but some key Democrat demographics shifted enough towards Donald Trump to return him to the presidency.
Except that's not at all what the average cost of a meal is there
Depends on where you are (COL) and where you go. I regularly pay $10+ for a fast food meal.
In any case, how is Trump going to fix it and why are you stupid enough to think Biden caused it?

Who says I think Trump is going to fix it or that Biden caused it? It's just that people blame those in charge when things are bad, or they think things are bad (see Mandate of Heaven; "Did Food Prices Spur the Arab Spring?" pbs.org ).
It's human nature and Dems sometimes benefit from it as well (Financial Crisis Gave Candidate Obama A Boost npr.org).
>"No argument here. I don't look forward to Trump taking office, but Kamala's loss is not surprising based just on the inflation issue."
It surprised the ---- out of me.
I've always thought that Trump's position was based on the perception that he wasn't as bad as the alternative. It turns out he was actually popular with a large number of people.

People are angry. And even then it looks like 10 million fewer people voted than in 2020, even though our voting-age population increased (by about 5 million?) in that time. Trump will win in 2024 with about as many votes (maybe a few 100K fewer) as with which he lost in 2020, so not much changed for him.
All governing parties of major nations did badly this year. First time in history, pretty much. Dems actually did better than almost all of them, but still lost.
More here:
Dems join 2024's graveyard of incumbents
The incumbents in every single one of the 10 major countries that have been tracked by the ParlGov global research project and held national elections in 2024 were given a kicking by voters. This is the first time this has ever happened in almost 120 years of records. The cause? Inflation.
