Rudy Giuliani Permanently Disbarred in DC

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani had his law license permanently revoked in the nation's capital, following similar action by a New York court earlier this year over Giuliani's role in former President Donald Trump's attempt to undermine the results of the 2020 presidential election.

... Giuliani's law license in the District of Columbia had been temporarily suspended since the summer 2021, but the one-page decision from the District of Columbia Court of Appeals orders the former federal prosecutor to be disbarred.

Records show Giuliani was admitted to the D.C. Bar in 1976.

The appeals court ruled that Giuliani should be disbarred in D.C. because he had been disbarred in New York in July, citing rules of reciprocity between the two jurisdictions.

The order noted that Giuliani had the opportunity "to show cause why reciprocal discipline should not be imposed" but never filed a response. ...

All the people around Trump's J6 fiasco of an insurrection plan are going to prison, or are being ruined financially through their criminal efforts to overturn the Election... which, of course, Trump's sycophant's will claim he himself had nothing to do with.

The spineless BAR must be bullish on a Harris Walz win in Nov. They had to wait 4 years and in the last 5 weeks of this election to take away his license just to be sure they cover their asses. They would have never disbarred him if Trump was looking good in the polls.

As an attorney Giuliani was an officer of the court. Whether or not he violated those tenants on his own or at the direction of his client is immaterial.

If you're accusing the American Bar Association of engaging in partisan politics, let me remind you that the Bar's decision was about Giuliani's felonious activities that took place over an extended period of time, and they were numerous.

You should be grateful that the Bar expels attorneys of Giuliani's caliber and stop making excuses for him.

Democrats had nothing to do with it. Ghouliani brought this upon himself. He didn't even bother to respond to a court order. That's just dumb lawyering.

Also ... You do not have the right as a lawyer to file frivolous lawsuits and misrepresent the law with inaccurate and unsupported claims in a federal court.

Rudy never got over the fame he received as the Mayor of New York after 9-11. He even tried (and failed) to slingshot himself into the Oval Office based on that fame.

Add greed, obsession and lack of moral character to the mix and we end up with people like Giuliani and Trump. I'm not surprised these two rejects gravitated toward each other.
