... U.S. military personnel reported drones appearing in restricted airspace over Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia, shortly after sunset during a period of more than two weeks, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The drones appeared in December last year, according to the report, pulling in officials across the Pentagon, FBI and the Defense Department's specialized office for investigating unidentified aerial phenomena.

One senior official based at Langley told The Journal that multiple drones headed across Chesapeake Bay and further south toward the city of Norfolk. They reportedly traveled across Naval Station Norfolk, the world's largest naval port and the main base for the Navy's vaunted SEAL Team Six. Unless the drones are an imminent threat, by law they cannot by shot down near military bases. ...

With Pres Putin seeming to have such an influence politically within the GOP, is this his next incursion into the US?

NASA brought it's WB-57 research vessel "to get involved."

Airmen regularly see objects that operate within their training space, inhibiting activities because there are so many, moving at incredible speed, defying aerodynamics, outperforming our struggling fighter jets. All day. Every day.

All systems and sensors collaborate across multiple aircraft at very high speeds.

They appear spherical, solid and without observable propulsion.

Seems like we should have developed some sort of defense over the last couple of years that would have allowed us to acquire at least one of them. Tracking them back to home was something an AIR FORCE base should have been able to do...

"Unless the drones are an imminent threat, by law they cannot by shot down near military bases."
That makes bsolutely no sense. I'm pretty sure any law like that would be immediately repealed if requested.

Strange that Biden does nothing to eliminate or capture these drones in our airspace just as nothing was done to stop a Chinese spy balloon(s) that crossed our country? Who owns them? China. Russia. Israel, Korea, Ukraine. Etc

Ever since Biden got into office there is nothing but war and incompetence across Middle East and Eastern Europe. Biden encouraged Zelensky to wage war with Russia instead of negotiations

The had 'Musk' stamped on them, so....

And no one needed to fight when Trump was President, they knew that anything they wanted was For Sale.

One of Putin's banks was allowed to function inside of the US, even during the "sanctions" - and run by an intelligence broker.

Trump stole hundreds of top secret/classified information, military secrets that have consequently gotten individuals killed.

The Kremlin was directly connecting to DeVoss servers, and when cut off, re-connected from the same source to another DeVoss server.

TrumpCo sold us out, bro.

New defenses eyed for Langley AFB 2.6K views 1 day ago

Allegedly there are no new "threats", nothing requiring legal or military response, so why inflate the budget? These objects are non-threatening during daily, close, regular interactions. Have they tried a bake sale? Seasonal calendars are popular. Maybe choose a less busy location for air training?

...

Exactly

So why the big uproar about Chinese spy balloons floating over America?

They were not threatening anyone and were not even over a military base.

Just floating around. And looking down.

Yet shot down they were.

Drones can be spy devices too. We now need anti drone drones that will engage or follow them back to their source.

Find the mother ship. That's where the real good stuff will be found.

Why are truth and facts too often being hidden by politicians and bureacrats from citizens and taxpayers. Dont they supposedly serve the public and country? If truth is being covered up who is it that actually is being served?

That makes (a)bsolutely no sense.
(emphasis mine)

It does with a minimum understanding of defensive "use of force" law.
