I Grew Up Muslim in a Catholic Town Mary Was Common Ground

Zeyneb Sayılgan: I had just finished teaching a class on "the Muslim Mary". Many non-Muslims who attended were puzzled to find out that Muslims had a connection with Mary at all, and had no knowledge of how important she is to our belief and practice. This came as no surprise. Half of Americans report they know "not much" or "nothing at all" about Islam.

It's a nice little read from, "Zeyneb Saylgan is the Muslim Scholar at the Institute for Islamic, Christian and Jewish Studies in Baltimore".

Her story, really, and her daughter, Maryam, which is Mary's Arabic name in the Qur'an.

I suppose God can knock up any woman he wants to. Mary must have had quite the womb to merit the Holy ----.

My understanding is that all powerful beings, if there are any, are all powerful and wouldn't need to get all sticky.

Happy Nihilism!

Zeus had the right idea.

He turned into swans and bulls and cuckoos and a------------- and women couldn't withstand his mighty girth.

Y'all belueve in whatever nonsense you want but science is real whether you like it or not though Republicans want to kill science education want to ill science educatiom and start teaching Christian theology.

Thankfully. Most people grow up and realize Santa and the Easter bunny are just stories and fiction.

Unfortunately it's not the same for the Jesus.

Merry Christmas!

A 16 year old unmarried pregnant female?

Mary would have been stoned to death if Joseph hadn't come up with that "son of God" story.

Best "Honest, I never laid a hand on her" virgin birth lie ever told. It's been viral for centuries.

Jesus was a real person who obviously believed the story himself.

However, he was in enemy territory. He was one. They were many. He shoulda kept his mouth shut.
