Massive wildfires across the Carolinas have forced evacuations of multiple neighborhoods, particularly in the Carolina Forest area near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where a fire has grown to approximately 1,200 acres.

That's where my sister lives. She could see the smoke from her house. This is what she wrote: "Last night it was close. Many neighborhoods directly across were evacuated. I live directly on the other side of that road. All good now. Fire is contained."
