St. Louis, Missouri
St. Louis, Missouri, stands out with a significantly high rate of 54.4 homicides per 100,000 residents. This is the first time since 2021 that St. Louis has had the highest homicide rate out of the 24 select U.S. cities in the Center for Public Safety Initiatives homicide report.

' Missouri's 9.8 firearm homicide rate per 100,000 people during this five-year span (January 1, 2018 " December 31, 2022) was 1.66 times higher than the national rate, 5.4. ' Among the 50 states, only Mississippi (15.4), Louisiana (14.4) and Alabama (11.2) had a higher rate than Missouri's 9.8.

St Louis makes the whole state look bad.

Every city on the River is she it whole. A Memphis old-timer told me once it was because of contraband dumping. The blacks that remained in the deep south (where I grew up), on the other hand, were fine and good citizens, at least before the gangsta rap crime culture took over.

St. Louis - 61% Kamala, 37% Trump - and this includes the whole county where most of the murders are in the part of the city that likely voted Kamala 90%.

KC - 59% Kamala, 39% Trump - same comment above on the distribution.

As I have said before, we don't have a red state/blue state divide. We have deep blue -------- cities in red states - this includes CA and NY as well as Missouri.

Oh, hitla... The GDP difference is because of Blues taking in more government spending than Reds. It costs a lot to try and maintain your beloved dystopian peoplehive filled with vandals and crooked blue pols selfdealing government contracts. The rural areas may spend more on roads, because huge, but that's probably most of it right there, and roads supply food so your dystopian crimeridden megahive cities don't starve instantly.

Does government spending count as GDP?
GDP is the measure of all final goods and services in the economy. It includes final goods and services acquired by the US government because those are no less real than final goods and services produced by private citizens.

Big cities are to the planet analogous to cancer tumors in a body, sucking in all the nutrients, highways pumping food to them like veins supplying sugar to cancer, expanding uncontrollably, always hungry, filthy and pusfilled rotting areas swamped in excreted waste, that must for the health of the body be excised or at least reduced, limited, to prevent death of the whole body or planet.

The big cities are always Blue, the color of depletion, the color of suffocation, while our magnificent HUGE and largely uncrowded countryside is throbbing and RED, oxygen-rich, the color of HEALTH and vitality.

Your figures are misleading, because welfare to your "poor people and indians" does not count as GDP, while gov't spending in your Bluetopia crimeridden filthy cities, which includes all of your pet liberal projects like 'urban renewal' and 'art grants' and the thousand other useless boondoogles- That is counted as GDP.

The spending in the huge reds is mostly on highways and dams, and of course their lower population means lower taxes coming in. Don't forget that much of the highway spending enables your lovely feces-laden sidewalks to survive, because without the actual goods- food, in most cases- your lovely progressive bluetopia toilets would begin to starve in 3,2,1 DAYS. So you shouldn't make it seem as if the sustenance-producing populations in the provinces are a burden to your unsustainable unnatural tumor cities.

The blue states that are successful are so today mainly due to the investments made by GOP leadership in the past. The Dems just take control of these once great cities and drive them into the ground - doesn't matter if are talking St. Louis, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee, etc. It is the same pattern. For California, it comes down to the governor - and the state is squandering it vast resources under the Democrats.

Adjusted for cost of living (like localized GDP PPP), the split is roughly 50/50. But, more important, it ignores the causes for why a lot of deep blue -------- cities have high relative GDP. The factories tended to be built in urban areas back when the cities were actually productive. For instance for St. Louis, up until 1943, it tended to have GOP mayors - since this time, it has been 100% Democrat controlled. Coincidentally, the city's population collapse directly goes with the time the Democrats took control of the city. This takes us to GDP - the GDP for St. Louis is remnant of the investments made in infrastructure and in businesses predating the Democrat control of the city - basically, YOU DIDN'T BUILD THAT - you are just the ones running it into the ground now. You can apply the same thing to Detroit and even the state of CA - under the GOP, California K-12 education was the envy of the world - now, it is a running joke.

In the case of St. Louis, the largest employers are: BJC HealthCare (the companies that merged to form this date from the early 1900's), Walmart (low wages and came during the city's decline), Washington University (founded 1853), SSM Health (founded 1877), and Mercy (founded 1871). Other major employers in the region include Boeing (not real as they move the HQ to chase tax incentives from Seattle to Chicago), Scott Air Force Base (established 1917), Schnucks (1939), and Anheuser-Busch (established 1852).

You can literally go to any deep blue -------- city and you will see the same pattern - a time when the city was thriving during GOP or split-rule and then a deep decent into poverty under 100% Dem control - this happens until all the companies are finally forced to leave.
