Trump May Start His Second Term with a Stunning Power Grab

We got a potential clue about what Trump may have in mind when the well-connected conservative legal activist Ed Whelan heard a rumor.

"Hope it's wrong," Whelan wrote on X Wednesday, "but I'm hearing through the grapevine about this bonkers plan: Trump would adjourn both Houses of Congress under Article II, section 3, and then recess-appoint his Cabinet."

Comments

"This may sound technical, but it would amount to a massive power grab: Trump would be forcing the Senate into a recess.

This would mean that, for many of the most important posts in the federal government, Trump could simply ignore the Senate, thumbing his nose at the body to impose everyone he wanted, no matter how corrupt, extreme, or controversial they are."

"It may reflect the influence of Elon Musk and the Silicon Valley right in Trump's camp " it's a risky, norm-shattering attempt to disrupt the way politics, governance, and presidential power work. (Musk has indeed been tweeting about recess appointments.)"

Why would Trump need to do any of that when the Republicans have the votes already?

Because, surprisingly enough, there are several Republican Sens who MIGHT vote against Trump and for America.

Stranger things have happened.

If makes one wonder what shitler will ever need from Congress. Like why bother ever convening them again?

A concurrent action will be to set up a challenge with the Supreme Court

Probably over birthright citizenship or naturalization

Shitler will dare them to defy him cause if they do he will simply ignore them-what army or police force does the SC wield?

The real fight though is future elections. My biggest fears are the plans they are working on to subvert the election process making us into Russia

Alito at that point MIGHT realize the error of his ways

there are several Republican Sens who MIGHT vote against Trump and for America.

Might being the key word to that sentence.

From 2016 through 2020 name one time the Senate didn't hand Trump exactly what he wanted?

A leopard cannot change its spots.

The only future the Democratic Party has is if they can figure out how to create a stronger message than the Republican's message of hate.

And the message can't just be fear the Republicans.

It has to be a strong message of change.

Remember "Hope and Change".

When that turned into "more of the same" is when democrats failed.

Biden was lucky. Covid showed Americans Trump's callous indifference towards them.

Can't count on that anymore.

If I hear the word "message" one more fucking time....

Someone explain to me a message more simple, straightforward, true and SHOULD BE unassailable than "Shitler is a rapist".

If American voters refuse to act on that message, like wtf will?

Tax the billionaires!
Free abortions for all!
Puppies and rainbows in every garage!

Fucking Americans are dumb, like REALLY stupid, and evil, like REALLY fucking evil.

They put the literal worst possible person they could in the WH. Over a normal fucking human being.

They knew what he was, the know who he is and they did it anyway.

Cause of $5 eggs.

They threw away women's rights for, ummm, no fucking promise about the price of eggs.

They are throwing away healthcare, and social security and fucking education, for, ummm, no fucking promise about the price of eggs.

What, exactly is Shitler's plan to lower the price of eggs? Tax cuts for billionaires? Putting tariffs on competitors of Elon Musk? Booting all the egg collectors and packagers from the country?

It wasn't Harris, it wasn't Biden, it wasn't the message or messenger or the way it was communicated, it wasn't moving too far left, it wasn't moving too far right.

It was the stupid fucking evil American people

Fuck them, let them choke on the ashes of what they voted for, the fucking idiots.

Fuck the latinos that voted for him, may their family members be deported
Fuck the Muslims that voted for him, may they be deported to Palestine
Fuck the women that voted for him, may they live in fear of a pregnancy
Fuck the lower class morons that voted for him, may they be the net losers that Shitler's plans make them
Fuck the young voters that voted for him, may they live to see the earth burn
Fuck the anti-vaxxers, may they find themselves needing a respirator cause RFK Jr. read an article on the internet about vaccines.
Fuck the religious nuts, anti-trans assholes, the degenerates and wife beaters, Fuck em all

If I hear the word "message" one more fucking time....

What?

Who cares what democrats did if no one hears about it.

Republicans kept voters talking about illegal immigrants and democrats turning boys into girls and the price of eggs being too high and they won.
