Cases of pertussis, commonly known as whooping cough, have jumped 14-fold since 2023, alarming state health officials.

Silver lining is that doctors in training will actually get to see and treat preventable diseases. When I was a resident and intern, never did see pertussis, measles (rubella), polio, tetanus or rubeola.
Syphilis and other STD's have also made a comeback.
I saw a graphic recently that resistant bacteria will cause more deaths by 2050 than cancer.
