Trump Holds Off on Tariffs

President-elect Trump won't impose broad tariffs on Day 1 of his presidency, and instead will order reviews of trade and currency imbalances, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

"The Journal got an exclusive look at Trump's memo, which orders federal investigations of trade deficits, alleged unfair trade practices and purported currency manipulation by other countries.

The memo directs specific attention to trade deals with China, Canada and Mexico and whether their terms are being honored.

"The memo could signal an overall more moderate approach, even as Trump continues to call tariffs "the greatest thing ever invented" and among "the most beautiful words" in the language."

Trump is not the only one who can play the stupid game of "trade wars" and "tariffs" - he will claim credit and say that "his tariffs" led to "favorable trade agreement" and that all the previous presidents didn't know how to "Make America First and Great Again."
