More: A veteran House Democrat is introducing new legislation to respond to billionaire Trump ally Elon Musk's overhaul of the federal government: Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) on Wednesday rolled out the Eliminate Looting of Our Nation by Mitigating Unethical State Kleptocracy (ELON MUSK) Act, which would ban "special" government employees like Musk from having federal contracts.

"No government employee, Special' or not, should have any financial interest in who the government does business with," Pocan said. "Elon Musk is the poster child for this type of potential abuse. After more than $20 billion in federal contracts, there's no way Musk can be objective in what he's doing." Musk holds major federal contracts through his companies including SpaceX and Starlink.

The Founding Fathers would have had Herr Musk crated up and sent back to where he came from.

Oh good! I was worried that Dems wouldn't spend the next couple years on meaningless and useless gestures that have no chance of succeeding.

any democrat on the hill or head of city / state who objects to finding corruption

in the govt is a crook...hands in the kitty.....

and they're "shared skitless"....

so abusing the legal system AGAIN...is one of their last hopes.

maybe next flight there will be more room on plane....to gitmo.

Once again the impotent dems do something too late. Always reacting to republicans' last crime instead of preventing their next one.

"Once again the impotent dems do something too late. Always reacting to republicans' last crime instead of preventing their next one."

Don't blame the Dems who are still trying to make a case that some Republicans will finally be unable to deny. If anyone deserves blame now it is the Dems ans Independents who wTCHED dONALD tRUNP TELL US WHAT HE WANTED TO DO BUT then were too ideologically pure to vote for Kamala and the entire Democratic ticket; they own this situation.

"Once again the impotent dems do something too late. Always reacting to republicans' last crime instead of preventing their next one."

Dnald Trump gets sexual pleasure when he hears turncoat Dems call the loyal, hard working Dems "impotent". They are still trying to resist Trump and maybe swing a few non-MAGA Republicans who are still loyal to the Constitution over to join them in opposing his unconstitutional actions of Co-Ptesidents Trump & Musk.

Like it or not our counytry has a two party system. If you trash the Dems then you are helping Trump & Musk and the MAGA-Republicans Raph Nader! I would have thought you learned your lesson when you helped Bush beat Kerry but some folks don't learn from their own stupid mistakes.

Seriously? The Dems fault Trump, in an unprecedented, unconstitutional move relinquished control of the government to an unelected, ketamine-snorting, emotionally stunted South African gazillionaire? No, bubby, not the least. What the Dems are going to do is fight it. What the Republicans are doing is rolling over, exposing their fat bellies and begging for a tummy rub from their oligarch masters. Most dogs have far more integrity.

What the Dems are going to do is fight it.

When? Or more pertinently, how? Trump needs to be countered but his personal party has a stranglehold on the government currently with rubber stamps in the House, Senate and SCOTUS.

I do agree with the rest of your comment though, Doc.

Unconstitutional. No bills of attainment.
