Elon Musk's Companies Were Under Investigation by 5 IGs

Elon Musk's companies were under investigation by five Inspectors General when the Trump Administration fired them.

Brian Kilmeade claimed that Elon Musk wouldn't invent things about DOGE. Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX) pointed out that Musk has helped fire several Inspector Generals who were investigating his various companies. Musk stands to gain financially from the actions of DOGE. youtu.be/xupVWJloEZI? ...

Thanks to GOP voters in 2024, America will be the greatest kakistocracy AND kleptocracy in history. I guess all Republicans in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, and the other Red States are doing fabulously well, enjoying excellent, affordable healthcare, safe air travel, and monitored food production. Good for them.

Hi Corky. You said it. What a country we have, simultaneously surrendering to the Kremlin AND the oligarchs. Twilight Zone episodes only lasted 60 minutes. Our ordeal will last four horrible years while avian flu spreads and gun shootings continue (Trumpf signed an EO loosening federal gun regulations). AND the Ukrainians and Palestinians have been thrown under the bus. Trumpf won 49.8% of the vote in 2024-- a plurality, not a majority-- and Teflon Musk received ZERO American votes, yet those two are in total charge of the US with Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu reaping all the rewards.

Another rape of America (it was founded on rape of First Nations and African slaves)

Hi Hamburglar. You said it-- the rape of the under-privileged continues. The Trumpf-Musk regime did us all a big favor by tearing off the democratic veneer to expose who really runs the US: Billionaires.

Unless, of course, those IGs had probable cause, legitimizing the investigations into Musk.

But, that couldn't be possible, now could it?

You're in a cult, visitor_.

Swallow it.

EVERYTHING FELON47 HAS DONE HAS BEEN DONE FOR THE BENEFIT OF HIS BOSS.

Destroying CFPB, Firing FAA director, firing OMB, firing FEC, illegally killing USAid, destroying OSHA, firing IG's, etc.

All of it.
THis is the most corrupt administration ever.

Fat boy is happy getting to golf and have the taxpayer pay for it. Taking a lap at Daytona. Going to half a football game.

All wasting taxpayer money while hiding the corruption by a thinly veiled disguise of cutting fraud and waste while simultaneously blackmailing businesses into paying him for their government contracts while the GQP are terrorized into silence through threats of being primaried by muskhole.

No worries! Elmo will be totally transparent.

We have been assured by that if Elmo encounters an agency that that is investigating him he will recuse himself.

The problem is that self monitoring for conflicts of interest is in itself a conflict of interest.

Did musk comment any crimes? We'll never know now. Did this "deep state" you speak of ( whatever that is) commit crimes? Where are the investigations? You got nothing but lies, friend.

Gotta love how you maroons call the government investigations of corruption and potentially criminal activity the "weaponization of government".

If we can't "weaponize" the government against crime and corruption then we are basically done here. So much for "due process".

This particular Experiment in Democracy is now over.

Why would an IG investigate a private company? I thought IG's were internal government watchdogs? It seems to me that any investigation of a private sector company would be conducted by convening a grand jury.

Okay. The headline says companies (plural). To me this seems out of the scope of an IG and therefore the scope of a grand jury.

@#18 ... To me this seems out of the scope of an IG ...

Perhaps the IG does the investigation and then, depending upon evidence uncovered, turns the case over to a prosecutor for further evidence collection and then, possibly, a Grand Jury?

From the cited article...

... Yesterday, during the DOGE Subcommittee's first hearing, Congressman Greg Casar (D-TX) revealed that the Inspectors General of five federal agencies that were investigating Musk's companies had been fired by the Trump administration last month. Casar said that the Inspector General of the Department of Labor had 17 open investigations into Tesla and SpaceX, where Musk is the CEO of both and a major shareholder. Casar also called out that the Inspector General of the Department of Transportation was investigating Tesla when he was fired by the Trump administration.

According to Casar, the Department of Defense's Inspector General was looking into SpaceX when he was fired. The investigation was potentially a result of the Wall Street Journal's reporting on Musk's use of illegal drugs and secret conversations with Putin, both of which would be highly problematic for a defense contractor with security clearance. ...

FACT SHEET: TRUMP ADMINISTRATION, DOGE PUNISH AGENCIES INVESTIGATING ELON MUSK'S COMPANIES

Several Federal Agencies That Were Investigating Elon Musk's Companies Have Become The Early Targets
Of The Trump Administration And Musk's Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE)

Department of Labor (DOL): DOL, which oversees the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the
Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), and the Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission (EEOC) had over a dozen open investigations into Tesla and SpaceX regarding alleged unfair
labor practices, safety violations, and discriminatory work practices.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB): : Consumers have submitted over 300 complaints about
Elon Musk's Tesla to the CFPB. 66 of these complaints were submitted in the last year.

U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID): The USAID Inspector General initiated a probe
into Starlink satellite terminals provided to the Government of Ukraine.

Department of Transportation (DOT): DOT, which oversees the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration (NHTSA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), had several open
investigations into Tesla. FAA had recently ordered SpaceX to carry out a formal investigation into the
loss of a Starship vehicle during a test flight, and previously ordered over $630,000 in civil penalties against SpaceX.

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA): The USDA Inspector General launched a probe into Elon
Musk's Neuralink in 2022 for potential violations of the Animal Welfare Act. As of January, the
investigation was ongoing.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA): EPA regulators have settled multiple lawsuits with Tesla
over violations of the Clean Air Act and hazardous waste laws at the company's automotive manufacturing
plant in Fremont, California.

Federal Election Commission (FEC): The FEC is set to rule on a number of complaints filed during the
2024 election cycle, including complaints pertaining to Musk's America PAC.

Department of the Interior (DOI): DOI oversees the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), which monitors
the federal lands near SpaceX's launch site in Texas for any damage to threatened species' habitats. Musk has repeatedly clashed with FWS, calling their review process "unacceptable."

Department of Defense (DOD): Concerns that SpaceX has repeatedly failed to comply with federal
reporting protocols aimed at protecting state secrets, including by not providing some details of Musk's meetings with foreign leaders, have reportedly triggered federal l reviews by DOD's Office of Inspector General, the Air Force, and the Pentagon's Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security. The Air Force also recently denied Musk high-level security access, citing potential security risks associated with the billionaire.

More from the above fact sheet on Trump and Musk helping Musk:

Department of Justice (DOJ): DOJ filed a lawsuit in 2023 against SpaceX for allegedly discriminating
against asylees and refugees in hiring. DOJ also opened investigations into whether Tesla has been candid
in describing the features of its vehicles.

Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC): The SEC sued X in January 2025, alleging Musk misled
shareholders about his Twitter stock purchases in 2022 and ordering Musk to pay the federal government
as much as $150 million. Musk called the agency a "totally broken organization" in response to the
lawsuit.

Office of Government Ethics (OGE): Days after Members of Congress requested that OGE investigate
Mr. Musk's conflicts of interest--given his status as a Special Government Employee and his extensive
business holdings that receive billions of dollars in federal government contracts and subsidies--the
Director of OGE was fired by Trump.
