Large shipments of Canada-bound meth and cocaine worth nearly $3 million were seized at the Alberta border on two different days back in December and January. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) said it intercepted of 186 kilograms of methamphetamine and 42 kilograms of cocaine from two commercial trucks seeking entry at the Coutts border crossing in southern Alberta.
"These significant seizures are examples of the dedication and expertise of CBSA's officers as they continue to work each and every day to prevent illegal drugs, like fentanyl, and contraband from breaching our borders," Public Safety Minister David McGuinty said in a statement.
Canada was busy combatting illegal drugs before Trumpf's threats. The RCMP busted the largest drug mega-lab in their history right before the US election. Please see second entry for more details: coriolanus.page
As someone posted, Canada is like the US, you are "free to go" at the borders. ICE agents may conduct targeted inspections before leaving the US if they have a tip-off about somebody specific carrying contraband (large amount of undeclared currency, drugs, weapons).
