Supreme Court Extends Blocks on Trump Admin's Alien Enemy Act Removals

This afternoon, the Supreme Court granted an application for an injunction against the federal government barring the summary removal of Venezuelan nationals alleged to be members of Tren de Aragua (TdA) under the Alien Enemies Act.

The decision is a significant loss for President Trump, who wants to use the law to speed deportations - and avoid the kind of review normally required before removing people from the country.

Seems the Court doesn't trust the Buffoon to do the right thing.

The Buffoon's 24 hour notice is not enough but it's up to lower court's to say how much notice is enough. In the mean time, no removals may be had under the AEA.

The SCOTUS have no spine. They kicked the can.

Maybe for the best tho'.

@#8 ... In the mean time, no removals may be had under the AEA. ...

Good.

I should clarify. This applies to the Northern District of Texas but other court's will take the hint.

I can't believe a case has not been filed in Louisiana where the detention facility is located. I read earlier that two were deported from there today.

@#11 ... This applies to the Northern District of Texas but other court's will take the hint. ...

My guess is that with a 7-2 decision, your opinion is correct.

A 7-2 smackdown from the Court he bought and paid for?

The scary part is that at least two SC Justices are obvious traitors to the Constitution and partisan hacks.

Trump will just be more popular after this.

Trump will never again have as much power as he seized during his first 30 days of this current term. It is all resistance and lowering approval ratings from here on out.
