Businesses are fined for employing illegal aliens

Nearly 150 unauthorized workers have been accounted for among three businesses in Colorado following workplace audits, resulting in more than $8 million in fines. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said its Denver office issued a notice of intent to fine CCS Denver, Inc.; PBC Commercial Cleaning Systems, Inc.; and Green Management Denver. The fines are a result of "widespread employment eligibility violations," ICE said.

Oooh, fines!

A fine means legal for a price.

Here's a thought:

Start deporting the hirers to El Salvador, and see what happens.

This is good. Keep it going.

"The largest fine -- $6,186,171 -- went to CCS Denver after ICE discovered a 100% substantive violation rate and evidence of knowingly hiring and employing at least 87 unauthorized workers."

Entire workforce illegal.
Company knowingly hired an entirely illegal workforce.

No criminal penalty for the employer.
just a fine of $71,105 per employee.

This exemplifies why companies will simply keep hiring unauthorized workers.

Fine them and toss them in jail if needed.

@#7 ... Fine them and toss them in jail if needed. ...

Agreed.

But after due process, of course.

I have often commented upon the companies that seem to encourage the influx of undocumented immigrants into the Country. An apparent sponsored influx to the extent that the Country's economy seems to rely upon the undocumented immigrants.

But, I do have one question ...

How does a company be thrown into jail?
