Donald Trump's big, beautiful new plane from the government of Qatar has arrived -- but the US president says it's too big to be his personal perk.

"a hell of a lot less than building a new one".

I am going to say this... if you think the AF is going to let the CIC fly on a 20 year old jet without tearing it apart, checking for listening devices, replacing all critical systems, installing all new aviation controls and computers along with countermeasures to ensure his safety your stupid.

Donny is just that stupid.

In a month, he will be whining that the jet isn't ready.

In the meantime it very will may cost more than building a new one.

But it's for the middle class suckers to pay for his golden throne.

His $1500/year in taxes won't pay for it.

You'd have to be extremely stupid (which Trump is) to think that the secret service would ever let the US President fly on that plane.
It would need to be torn down and rebuilt, along with all of it's controls to make sure there are no spy devices, backdoors to take control or other nefarious methods embedded in the plane. That does not even include all of the security retrofits that would be required.

I know less than zero about aviation, but maybe:

the runways aren't long enough at Palm Beach, FL, to accommodate larger jets?

I'm admitting complete ignorance here.

Were this to be incorporated into the Trump presidential library, it would become the world's largest Bookmobile. Of course, Der Dotard has been famous for never writing anything down, and barely for being able to write at all.

I'll wager that behind the scenes the pressure on Trump on this dumb situation is so intense that he is searching high and low for a graceful way to get out of this 'gift' that he has brought upon himself. In a few weeks he will announce that the gift is 'too nice' for the US, what with all the leftist communist socialist Dems out there who might try to steal this thing from him, so on behalf of all of his supporters he will have to 'give it back' to those Qatari terrorists...

The runway requirements for the Qatari bribe plane are marginally longer (200ish feet) than Lewzer's current flying golf carts. Roughly 7,500-7,800 feet.

Palm Beach Airport runway is 10,000 feet, so no issues there.

Roughly 7,500-7,800 feet.

To be clear, those are landing requirements at max landing weight. Takeoff distances are longer, but still should not pose a problem.

6, 7

Thx.

@#3 ... You'd have to be extremely stupid (which Trump is) to think that the secret service would ever let the US President fly on that plane. ...

Ya think?

Especially since the plane has sat in an unsecured airport for how long?

He is good at hurting America and Americans, and of course, the grift thing, but where has he helped Americans, especially those at the bottom of the economic pyramid? So many voted for him, and are getting kicked in the teeth when they try to work out their Social Security or Medicare.

If he doesn't like it drop it back off and say thanks but no thanks!

I think Melania went aboard and saw the decor and said I'm not flying in this brothel!

AF1 doesn't need to be that big.

This is desired by him for the same reason you see magats riding around in lifted 4x4's... to assuage their inadequacies in a particular area.

Tiny Peen syndrome ... airplane mode.

#14 | Posted by Nixon at 2025-06-05 02:16 PM

AF1 doesn't need to be that big.

Lewzer actually said that the the President of the United States should not be parking beside a smaller plane. It is "embarrassing".

I'll bet Trump got wood, though, seeing all the gilded, gaudy fixtures

Air Force Secretary Troy Meink says the conversions will "likely" cost less than $400 million, but declined to cite a specific cost for retrofitting the plane.
