US Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) is being criminally investigated for possible mortgage fraud. The Federal Housing Finance Agency made a criminal referral to the DOJ, accusing Schiff of altering bank documents and property records in several cases to secure more favorable loan terms. Schiff allegedly has claimed both his Burbank and Maryland homes as his primary residences in order to get more favorable mortgage rates. FHFA Director William Pulte said, "Based on media reports, Mr. Adam B. Schiff has, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, impacting payments from 2003-2019 for a Potomac, MD-based property. As regulator of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Banks, we take very seriously allegations of mortgage fraud or other criminal activity. Such misconduct jeopardizes the safety and soundness of FHFA's regulated entities and the security and stability of the US mortgage market," Pulte added.
An old Russian expression goes something like this: "Be careful whose grave you dig, because it might be your own [sic]." In July 2024 Senator Adam Schiff began the public questioning of POTUS Joe Biden over his age and was a spearhead against Dummkopf Trumpf during his first Reign of Terror. But Schiff himself may get undone by trying to save himself a little bit of money with his house purchase. Schiff's income is approximately $200,000 per year and his reported net worth is $2 million. #2: Yup, America's nomenklatura, Republican or Democratic, have different rules than the rest of us. Note that Sen John Cornyn (R-TX) padded his nest egg nicely with three public pensions apart from his salary and I think fellow Texan Rick Perry got away with multiple pensions as well. Must be nice to be so well-connected and insulated from financial problems unlike the vast majority of their constituents.
