The increased deaths in emergency departments at private equity-owned hospitals are most likely the result of reduced staffing levels, researchers say.
The US is the only wealthy industrialized Western country without universal healthcare. The for-profit American healthcare industry not only causes thousands and thousands of medical bankruptcies every year, but also creates terrible outcomes, leading to unnecessary patient deaths. Some rural hospitals already do not have ER physicians and the Republican "BBB" will further exacerbate the problem. The callous move to use AI before treating Medicare patients will reward contractors who will collect a bounty on money they save the government, creating "death panels," similar to the nefarious practices of United HealthCare (Medicare Advantage). Private equity firms have also moved into the profitable funeral industry, so our deaths are becoming more and more lucrative for the oligarchs. The hardworking American taxpayer hopes the devil-may-care superrich enjoy their unnecessary tax cuts under the 'BBB' and the platinum medical care they insouciantly receive from their personal physicians and expensive private clinics. "Most corrupt nation on the planet."
This is a hilarious comment. The Western world is the least corrupt
