Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said Thursday that the food stamp program will run out of funds in two weeks because of the partial government shutdown, potentially leaving nearly 42 million people without monthly benefits.
The Constitution explicitly requires that any disbursement of funds from the US Treasury must have congressional approval. But Scott Bessent is plucking down $40 billion to bail out one of his investment buddies' bad bets in Argentina, and he isn't even briefing Congress about it.
