The Trump administration on Thursday said import taxes on coffee and bananas will be lowered as part of trade deals with four Latin American countries.

QUESTION: If prices are down and not up because of tariffs -- why is Bessent saying they're going to lower tariffs on coffee, bananas, etc to lower prices? ANSWER: Because they are lying. Tariffs are a tax on you, and prices are UP.

My favorite coffee bean blend is Guatemala Antigua and dark Columbian. Robustos for flavor and the extra kick in the morn is the way to start the day.

But the stress of seeing the prices rise is devastating. Only one cup instead of two. Grrrr.

Eliminating the tariffs is the sane thing to do, of course.

But it underlines what a desperate and frankly pathetic man Trump is.

Trump was just trying to pull a fast one to cover the cost of extending tax breaks to his wealthy friends.

It's not working. That means he has to lean harder on cutting Medicare, Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, all with the sure-fire loss of both the House and Senate in the midterms.

Yes, he really is that dumb. He had no Plan B. Now he's up creek.

The most incompetent President in American history put into place by the most ignorant and hateful voters...today's Republican Party. Oh, and by the way, if the tariffs are declared illegal by the federal Supreme Court, and have to be paid back, when one looks at the huge tax cuts for the rich,,,one could be excused in thinking America is now teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. If one can only pay the service on the debt, but cannot reduce the debt, then won't the creditors head for the hills?
