Judd Legum with Popular Information interviews an Owasso Police Department lieutenant who said the cause of death of Nex Benedict, the Oklahoma non-binary student who died a day after an altercation in a high school bathroom, remains unknown and charges against the three girl's who hit Benedict are still possible.

Hmmm the article at the link does not refer to Nex as him/her and the only reference/use of the word transgender is in a quote from nbc

Just saying

I didn't open the mother jones Facebook link as that is a different article

The view from Okiehomie: locals want this matter to go away and never come back. The police are not slow-walking the investigation--they are paused in place. The autopsy may be released under cover of darkness, tacked to a telephone pole in hopes it will blow away in the omnipresent wind, never to be seen again. The assailants will never be punished beyond a few days detention...
