Reminds me of the time I went to my bank for a couple of tasks.

One of which, I wanted to confirm that my will was OK, and that my Executor(s) would get appropriate access needed to do what they needed to to.

The teller told me, no, being an executor is not a valid reason to access your accounts. You need to be here and allow that access. I told her, but I'll be dead. She said something along the lines of, "rules are rules, no exceptions."

I went home and sent my lawyer an email, asking for the correct words to write to the bank's legal team.

Long story short, I receive an apology letter from the bank's legal team.

It was A Big Apology. Along the lines of, ~we blew it, big time.~ They told me that my executor(s) would be quite OK accessing my accounts with the appropriate legal documents that I mentioned in my email (e.g., death certificate, etc.).

Banks can be interesting.
