I know a guy who was friends with him at Rhode Island School of Design back in the mid-60s. Someone in the school's dad was a music promoter, so a few of the students, including "Marty," were responsible for Big Brother and the Holding Company's first East Coast booking.

Allegedly, but a story told with authority.

Back in the 70s, my older cousins turned me on to Martin Mull. I never laughed harder in my life than the first time I heard "The Humming Song".

Not long after, Mr. Mull stayed in the KC hotel I was working at while he was touring, and I approached him for an autograph, telling him about my cousins, and the fact I now owned two of his albums.

He was very gracious, and it wasn't until I was long gone that I looked at what he signed:

Get The Rest of My Albums!
