Senate Candidate Tim Sheehy (R-Mont.), who is running against Jon Tester (D-Mont.) during this election cycle, made questionable racially tinged comments about the Crow Reservation at fundraisers last year. In audio clips obtained by Char-Koosta News, Sheehy can be heard at a November 6, 2023, campaign fundraiser in Shelby commenting on his relationship with tribal members on the Crow Reservation. In the clip, Sheehy says he ropes and brands with Crow members, and that it's "a great way to bond with all the Indians while they're drunk at 8:00 A.M." This was said after stating that one of his ranching partners is a Crow member.

For those who don't know accusing Natives (as a group) of all being alcoholics is worse than claiming all black people of being crazy about watermelon.

The ---- Caricature

... Before its death, the ---- developed into the most blatantly degrading of all black stereotypes.

The pure ----s emerged as no-account n-----rs, those unreliable, crazy, lazy, subhuman creatures good for nothing more than eating watermelons, stealing chickens, shooting crap, or butchering the English language. (p. 8) ...

Yep the watermelon stereotype is brutal.

You know what the big difference is?

No one have ever actually gotten addicted to watermelon, died of watermelon poisoning, or had a disabled child as a result of watermelon consumption.

@#6 ... Yep the watermelon stereotype is brutal. ...

Yeah, though, I'd say evil instead of brutal.

But to my ultimate point...

These unsubstantiated stereotypes are what the current GOP seems to want taint (I'm being kind here) non-whites with.

That is, an apparent GOP (coordinated?) effort to reduce all non-whites to the point that the GOP can gain and hold power.

I've not seen anything from fmr Pres Trump to the contrary.

You know why there isn't a museum to all the horrible images of Natives?

Because most of them were killed.

Not enslaved.

obliterated.

Every time that stereotype is promoted it normalizes natives getting addicted.

Among the gooberish on the Great Plains, Native Americans serve as stand-ins for Blacks when it comes to ignorance-fueled racialism.
