Sure, and here in the USA most retail pharmacist have little time for counseling. Mine consists of 'any questions?' Your co-pay is X thank you very much. All vaccines are given by a tech. There are good studies that show having a pharmacist do most of the counseling and prescribing for HBP they get better results. But they currently cannot prescribe or get paid for the counseling piece, so CVS or Walgreens won't be doing it.

Not for me, I'll keep discussing the drugs I take wiyj my Doctor, do you discuss nutrition with the cashier at the grocery store?

Nothing against cashiers but you are comparing people who have highly specialized training and doctorate degrees with cashiers.
There's a very high probability that your pharmacist is more informed on potential interactions, allergies, efficacy rates, approved off label uses, benefits/risks of specific generics, etc. If you aren't discussing your prescriptions with your pharmacist then you are not likely talking to the most informed expert you know on the topic.

#4 Agreed. I will point out that I have never seen Phamaceutical reps delivering hundreds of dollars of for and in some cases samples, for the staff and doctors at their offices (primary care to specialists). Never happens at my pharmacy, they don't allow that. The pharmacist has no pony in the RX race, just your best interests in saving me money and knowing the difference between brands and generic. I trust my DR to give me the RX needed and the pharmacists, who also has years of college to be a pharmacist, to discuss with me the options for filling it.
