"Trump Is Desperately Trying to Shift Blame for Impending Shutdown

Donald Trump is realizing he messed up with the spending bill.

Donald Trump is desperate to pretend his shoddy leadership isn't about to cause a government shutdown.

Trump tried to push the blame onto President Joe Biden, in a Truth Social post Friday.

"If there is going to be a shutdown of government, let it begin now, under the Biden Administration, not after January 20th, under TRUMP,'" wrote the president-elect.

"This is a Biden problem to solve, but if Republicans can help solve it, they will!"

'

No one could have predicted he would start a fight over a bi-partisan bill, blame others when his replacement bill failed, and then run away.

Johnson reengages with Dems after failed Plan B
www.axios.com

... House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) told his members Friday that he and Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) have reopened negotiations on a government funding deal, sources familiar with his comments told Axios.

Why it matters: The restarted talks come just hours before the government is set to shut down at midnight Friday.

- - - After backing out of a deal he negotiated with Democrats, Johnson tried and failed to pass a revised bill Thursday.

- - - House Democrats almost all voted against the new measure, however, complaining bitterly that Johnson didn't consult Jeffries on it.

What we're hearing: Jeffries told House Democrats in a closed-door caucus meeting Friday morning that lines of communication between the two leaders have reopened, according to numerous sources in the room.

- - - The Democratic leader said he is doing "everything possible" to get the impasse resolved Friday "consistent with our values and bipartisan agreement we have negotiated," two lawmakers told Axios. ...

House Speaker Mike Johnson: 'We have a plan' after government funding bill fails
www.upi.com

... House Speaker Mike Johnson expects another vote on stopgap funding to avert a government shutdown on Friday morning.

The clock is ticking on a government shutdown after House Republicans failed to pass a stopgap funding bill late Thursday. Speaking to reporters early Friday, Johnson, R-La., said "we've got a plan."

Congress has until midnight on Saturday to pass a government funding bill and avoid a government shutdown through the holiday season. ...

"Government shutdown: House passes stopgap funding bill, sends it to Senate for vote

Like Thursday's failed vote, Friday's passage " without Trump's debt limit hike " served as a reminder to the incoming president of just how difficult it is to control the notoriously fractious House Republican caucus."

Lewzer loses again... but he'll treat the House like they owe him one.

"Elon Tries to Kill "President Musk" Allegations After Total Disaster

Musk's genius spending bill idea crashed and burned. Now he's hoping he won't be blamed, including by Trump.

Whatever the state of Musk and Trump's relationship after the world's wealthiest man flexed his political muscles this week, the notion that Musk is delivering marching orders seems to have struck a nerve with team Trump.

On Thursday, a Trump spokesperson insisted that the president-elect, and no one else, was in charge, saying, "President Trump is the leader of the Republican Party. Full stop."

If you have to say that, you must really be doing a lot of things wrong.

Team Trump has been, I'll be nice, concerned with Mr Musk's, again nice, participation in Pres-elect Trump's pre-inauguration endeavors for a while now.

But their concern does not matter.

What will matter is the point at which Pres-elect Trump feels Mr Musk is stealing the spotlight.

Once Pres-elect Trump realizes the spotlight has moved from him to Mr Musk, Mr Musk will have to find a place beside Mar-A-Lago to hang out at.

Until then, I doubt if anything will change.

Not by a long shot. Elon is everything Lewzer except the stupid part. He actually took Dad's money and did something with it.

"Musk helped kill a congressional spending bill. But much of what he spread was misinformation

Musk's objections to the 1,547-page omnibus bill included misinformation about congressional salaries, federal funding and public health preparedness, among other topics."

It's not a lie when a billionaire does it, it's a, "misrepresentation".

Trumpers swallow those whole.

Collectively, their actions mark a troubling turn away from representative democracy and toward oligarchical rule, as Musk's wealth and influence overpower the legislative priorities of lawmakers elected by the American people."

Yup.

That, to me, was a very interesting aspect of the budget fiasco.

Pres-elect Trump seemed to follow Mr Musk's lead.

Tacitly admitting that Mr Musk has the stage.

How long can that last?

Tacitly admitting that Mr Musk has the stage.

Elon will be right behind him on the Capitol steps when he takes the Oath.

Elon will hand him the pens when he signs the Executive Orders.

He will go to bed when Elon tells him to. Lewzer is basically Joffre at this point.

'Trump is in charge!': MAGA activists push 'hyperpartisanship' and reject compromise
www.nbcnews.com

... As Congress struggles over a deal to keep the government open, the message coming from the beating heart of Trump world is clear-cut: Don't compromise.

Speakers at a conference of conservative activists here this week said that Donald Trump's election victory should be a warning to those who try to block his agenda " Republicans and Democrats alike " that they need to give way.

"We don't need partisanship now; we need hyperpartisanship now," Steve Bannon, a former Trump White House senior adviser, told a raucous audience gathered at the Phoenix Convention Center for AmericaFest. ...

Nah... he'll likely just blae Mr Musk for all that happened and then try to claim [falsely?] that he was in charge along.

The current aspect is... Mr Musk is stealing the spotlight from Pres-elect Trump. Pres-elect-Trump seems to be taking a back-seat to, and following (not leading) Mr Musk.

Of course, that raises questions ...
