A bird strike of one engine, imo, would not cause what I saw. From what I've read, planes can fly on only one engine.
OK, what did I see in the video ...
There was no landing gear deployed. The flaps did not seem to be in a position to slow the plane down.
That indicates to me a significant hydraulic failure, one which a bird strike of one engine is not likely to cause.
Now, if there were also a bird strike of a second engine, well, then that could explain the hydraulic failure, from what I have heard.
But then, there is that concrete wall at the end of the runway that the jet crashed into and had issues with, killing 179 passengers.
Again, from what I have heard, the FAA recommends against such barriers to prevent overruns of runways, likely for this exact reason.
