"Stewart Rhodes, the leader of the Oath Keepers, showed up at the US Capitol this week, dining at a Dunkin inside the Longworth House office building. The Associated Press reported that Rhodes "met with at least one lawmaker during his visit and chatted with others" while on Capitol Hill.

He gave interviews outside the DC jail, where he said he wanted prosecutors to be tried for their "crimes". Rhodes was not pardoned " his sentence was commuted, and he was released early.

He wants a full pardon.

Rhodes suggested January 6 should be remembered in history as "patriots day".

He has not expressed regret for his role in the riots, saying his members were entrapped and their responses to police force were understandable.

"We were there to protect Trump supporters from Antifa," he said in a video after his release."

Thanks, Trumpers! You built this!

It should make you almost as proud as gun violence being the leading cause of death in children.

"Oath Keepers founder barred from D.C., U.S. Capitol unless judge signs off

A federal judge on Friday barred Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the far-right Oath Keepers extremist group who was convicted of seditious conspiracy in connection with the Capitol riot, from entering Washington, D.C. or U.S. Capitol without the court's permission.

Rhodes was convicted by a federal jury in 2022 of seditious conspiracy in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol by a mob of President Trump's supporters. U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta sentenced Rhodes to 18 years in prison, calling him a threat to the country and democracy."

I've only seen very little evidence that MAGA understands the concept of pride.

I sadly giggle whenever they say that they are proud of being Americans.

They don't have much in common with Americans, except that they live here.

So, the same relationship to Americ as fire ants.

DOJ asks judge to drop order barring Oath Keepers from visiting Capitol

Stewart Rhodes, previously sentenced to 18 years for seditious conspiracy, was at the Capitol Wednesday chatting up lawmakers and reporters.

The Justice Department is asking a federal judge to drop his recent order barring Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes " who was freed from prison by President Donald Trump earlier this week " and several top allies from entering Washington D.C. or the Capitol without permission."

'

"During the trial, prosecutors revealed a Jan. 10, 2021, recording of Rhodes in which he said "My only regret is they should have brought rifles" to the Capitol.

"We could have fixed it right then and there," Rhodes said. "I'd hang ------- Pelosi from the lamppost."

Although Trump pardoned most Jan. 6 rioters, he opted to commute the sentences of most of the defendants who faced charges of seditious conspiracy."
