Back in September, Donald Trump raised eyebrows when he called for opening a "very large faucet" in the Pacific Northwest to alleviate drought and wildfire conditions in California.

More from the article...

... "You have millions of gallons of water pouring down from the north, with the snow caps in Canada and all pouring down, and they have essentially a very large faucet," he told reporters at an LA press conference, adding that all of that water goes "aimlessly" into the Pacific Ocean, "and if they turned it back, all of that water would come right down here and right into Los Angeles."

That's not so simple, experts responded.

Monday, Trump returned to the idea of helping California fight wildfires in a post on the platform Truth Social, which Trump co-founded.

"The United States Military just entered the Great State of California and, under Emergency Powers, TURNED ON THE WATER flowing abundantly from the Pacific Northwest, and beyond," he wrote. "The days of putting a Fake Environmental argument, over the PEOPLE, are OVER. Enjoy the water, California!!!"

The California Department of Water Resources responded on X, denying the claim.

"The military did not enter California," officials wrote. "The federal government restarted federal water pumps after they were offline for maintenance for three days. State water supplies in Southern California remain plentiful." ...

I can't wait to read the article. To me, this was the single stupidest thing Lewzer said he would do.

I'll be back after I read the linked article.

I'm back!!

"Water operations to move water south through the Delta have nothing to do with the local fire response in Los Angeles," she told the paper. "Trump is either unaware of how water is stored in California or is deliberately misleading the public."
Pretty much what I expected. Nothing to do with the mythical "giant faucet" that diverts the Columbia River to Los Angeles. Or anywhere else, for that matter.

Promises made, promises broken.

Trump is either unaware ... or is deliberately misleading the public.

Trump in a nutshell.

I mean. It did rain over the weekend.

Maybe Trump got out a few sharpies and sent us some rain.

So, keeping score:

- Grocery prices are not going to come down
- Not balancing the budget
- Border is not going to be sealed
- The Columbia River (giant faucet) is not going to be diverted to Los Angeles
- Ukraine war is not going to end
- No tariffs on Day One
- No tariffs on China
- No concept of a healthcare plan
- Not freezing Federal Aid funds

So much winning!

Republicans must be getting tired of winning by now.

@#7 ... Grocery prices are not going to come down ...

You mean, renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America" didn't work as a diversion?

You mean, renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America" didn't work as a diversion?

Probably for those that thought he meant "Gulf of the United States", but they missed the subtlety.

@#5 ... Trump in a nutshell. ...

Well, yeah.

But what about those who seem to believe every word he utters?

Such cult magnetism it very difficult to break. I don't think there's any hope for many of them.
