Wednesday, January 29, 2025

In his first nine days in office, President Trump unleashed a flurry of executive orders unlike anything in modern presidential history, according to an analysis by Axios' Erin Davis.

Why it matters: Trump's reshaping the federal government with a shock-and-awe campaign of unilateral actions that push the limits of presidential power.

Lewzer quotes:

"Why Is @BarackObama constantly issuing executive orders that are major power grabs of authority?"

"The country wasn't based on executive orders,"

"Right now, Obama goes around signing executive orders. He can't even get along with the Democrats, and he goes around signing all these executive orders. It's a basic disaster. You can't do it."

You know what's absent these days?? Jeff's ire over a president issueing mass amounts of Executive Orders. He sure got pissed when Obama did them.

Democrats failed at locking Trump up in 2021 right after he instigated an insurrection.

The future of this country hangs in the hands of federal judges.

I forgot to add...

There's a good graph in that article.

Striking.

@#6 ... Striking. ...

Yeah.

Pres Trump's power grab for the Executive branch is striking.

I have other words for it, but, let's go with "striking" for the nonce.

Other words work as well.

But this is 100% Congress abdicating their responsibility and power.

Has anyone heard from Mike Johnson lately?

Perhaps he's hanging out with his "son" watching porn.

Must be nice to get paid hundreds of thousands a year just to kick back and do nothing.

"Republican Politician" is a great gig. Do nothing, collect money.

Trump has captured the Congress, at least the Republican half.

Turncoats like the New Sinema, John Fetterman, will make it easier for Trump to dominate the Legislative process.

Congress won't stop Trump. They might hinder him somewhat.

The Courts may also blunt his excesses.

At least I hope so.

Trump is a Unique danger on many levels.

Anything that Increases his Credibility is to be Prevented if possible.

The Democratic Leadership should have completely Boycotted his Inauguration.

Michelle Obama had it Right.

Seeing all those Democrats up there made me sad.

Seeing the Oligarchs made me Mad...

@#9 ... Trump has captured the Congress, at least the Republican half. ...

Apparently ...

Similar to your current alias.

Sucking up to Pres Putin.

Trying to sow chaos and divisiveness in the United States to weaken the Country.

Just as Pres Putin seems to want.

A weak United States, and a United States that abandons its long-term European friends.

The US is an Unreliable and oppressive weight on Europe and it's future.

They would do better without us. America pushes itself into every Quarrel.

Every opportunity to profit from War and Violence is persued by the US and the Patsies are discarded if things go wrong or the direction of the Country shifts.

Which it does every time the other Party Wins. Except Foreign Policy. Sometimes.

Trump is breaking with Biden's Ukraine policies. To a point. I don't see the War ending anytime soon, do you?

Now the US is making Noises like they want to Aggress on other Nations in the Western Hemisphere.

Trump is threatening Denmark, of all countries, for the control of Greenland.

NATO wouldn't survive something like That.

Would it?

Both Countries being Members and All.

Well, yeah.

Because of Pres Putin's puppet in the Oval Office.

But, what else does your current alias got, besides that same old line from Moscow?

I, for one, am shocked that posters like ballwasher haven't commented here yet regarding the governing by EO approach Trump is taking.

AHhhhh who am I kidding? Any time a righty mentions the Constitution, it's a shallow attempt to win an argument, not a genuine concern for our constitutional republic.
