What good reason does Trump have for not wanting to correct this mistake?
Stupid pigheaded arrogance?
Feeding the xenophobic what they want?
Cruelty is the point?
This man was here legal and hadn't committed any crimes.
Where are the trumpers to provide the talking points?

It's an ego thing.
Because Trump considers it a weakness to admit HE was wrong ~ so Mr. Garcia will stay where he is until Trump can find a scapegoat (some unfortunate dispensable underling) to take the fall so he, the Almighty Trump, can say his favorite words, "You're fired!"
Thereby publicly exonerating himself from any pre-knowledge of the injustice or blame.

Roberts is doing all he can to prevent the inevitable: Trump defying a court order. All he is doing is delaying it because the only way that Trump can achieve his objective (i.e. dictator status) is to create a constitutional crisis and to declare martial law to deal with the public's outrage.

You're probably correct but I've yet to figure out what the Supreme Court has to gain when a Dictator has no use for them.
