Justin Anthony Banta (38), an IT specialist with the Justice Department, secretly spiked his pregnant girlfriend's drink with "Plan C" abortion drugs to induce a miscarriage without her knowledge. Banta's girlfriend was happily six-weeks pregnant when she had a sonogram on 17 Oct 2024 that revealed a strong heartbeat and good vital signs in the fetus. Later that same day Banta allegedly spiked her coffee at a diner. The following day the woman went to the emergency room with extreme bleeding and lost the pregnancy. The victim reported the incident to authorities and Banta was charged with capital murder in Parker County, TX. Abortion pills

This prosecution reminds me of the Texas deputy who used thousands of surveillance cameras to track down a young woman who sought reproductive care. Justin Anthony Banta shouldn't have done what he is accused of, but to be charged with capital murder? I can't agree with giving a mulligan to some guy who induced an abortion without either the woman's knowledge or consent. That's an act of violence.
