So ... the tariffs that Pres Trump recently imposed upon Brazil are not due to any "National Emergency" situation, as the law Pres Trump cited seems to require, but more because Pres Trump may like the efforts of fmr Pres Bolsonaro's son?

Yeah.
Case in point ... so Pres Trump's nominee for the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, who was approved by Republicans over the vehement objections of Democrats, now seems to be on his way to full Senate approval.
And I do note, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is a stepping stone to a seat on SCOTUS.
