In addition to seeking to cut short environmental reviews, the executive order would open the door for the US government to rescind sections of the federal rule that seeks to keep the public safe during launches and reentries.

A draft executive order being circulated among federal agencies, and viewed by ProPublica, directs Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy to "use all available authorities to eliminate or expedite" environmental reviews for launch licenses. Sounds wonderful. Lets build more places to experimentally blow things up, experimentally blow more things up, cut back on the rules for experimentally blowing things up, and give control over blowing things up experimentally to those kind and benevolent corporations that care so very much for the environment and public safety.

This all sounds like a brilliant idea that couldn't possibly lead to any issues whatsoever.
