Chlormequat chloride is a plant growth regulator whose use on grain crops is on the rise in North America. Toxicological studies suggest that exposure to chlormequat can reduce fertility and harm the developing fetus at doses lower than those used by regulatory agencies to set allowable daily intake levels.

Here we report, the presence of chlormequat in urine samples collected from people in the U.S., with detection frequencies of 69%, 74%, and 90% for samples collected in 2017, 2018"2022, and 2023, respectively. Chlormequat was detected at low concentrations in samples from 2017 through 2022, with a significant increase in concentrations for samples from 2023. We also observed high detection frequencies of chlormequat in oat-based foods. These findings and chlormequat toxicity data raise concerns about current exposure levels, and warrant more expansive toxicity testing, food monitoring, and epidemiological studies to assess health effects of chlormequat exposures in humans.

80% of Americans test positive for infertility-linked chemical: Study
www.newsnationnow.com

... Americans are being exposed to a chemical found in oat-based foods, including Cheerios and Quaker Oats, that can pose a risk to reproductive and developmental health, according to a new study.

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) found that four in five, or 80%, of Americans, tested positive for a harmful additive called chlormequat " linked to reduced fertility, altered fetal growth and delayed puberty.

Chlormequat is a toxic "agricultural chemical" used to alter a plant's growth, per the EWG.

Additionally, EWG's tests found higher levels and more frequent detection of chlormequat in 2023 samples, compared to those from 2017 through 2022. This suggests consumer exposure to chlormequat could be on the rise, researchers said. ...

Flooding the biosphere with cancer causing chemicals continues to be exceptionally good for shareholder value.

That is the long and short of it.

Possibly, yes.

Until you look at what RoundUp is facing.

One thing I wonder, does Bayer now regret that Monsanto seems to have dumped RoundUp, and its problems, upon Bayer?

Stated differently, was Bayer really that clueless? Or what might be their end-game?

You know, we have a pandemic of another nature. One no one talks about as being such. I'm talking about cancer. When you think about it, everyone knows someone.

In the pursuit of profit; our food, the air, the water and liquids we drink, the clothes we wear, the cloth we sleep on, how we get to work, all have been touched by cancer related materials. It seems that everything causing cancer is embedded in our life with no way to avoid it. Some we know of, the more obvious chemicals and substances have been banned from being used and yet the cancer pandemic continues on, telling us there's much that has either been ignored or hasn't been addressed.
