Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, April 17, 2025

A U.S.-born American citizen was being detained at the request of immigration authorities Thursday despite an advocate showing his U.S. birth certificate in court and a county judge finding no reason for him to be considered an "illegal alien" who illegally entered Florida. Juan Carlos Gomez-Lopez, 20, was arrested Thursday evening by Florida Highway Patrol and charged under a state immigration law that has been temporarily blocked since early this month. Details of Gomez-Lopez's arrest and detention were first reported by the Florida Phoenix news site.

'A U.S.-born American citizen was being detained at the request of immigration authorities Thursday despite an advocate showing his U.S. birth certificate in court"

A very timely post.

Time for BLUEWAFFLES and SCOTTS to weigh in.

I wonder whose side they will be on?

"judge finding no reason for him to be considered an "illegal alien" who illegally entered Florida"

The Constitution has no right to interfere with Trump's conduct of foreign policy....

My BLUEWAFFLES and SCOTTS imitation.

From the Fourth Circuits unanimous, there was a dissent last time around, complete and total------- slapping of the Buffoon today:

The Executive possesses enormous powers to prosecute and to deport, but with powers come restraints. If today the Executive claims the right to deport without due process and in disregard of court orders, what assurance will there be tomorrow that it will not deport American citizens and then disclaim responsibility to bring them home? And what assurance shall there be that the Executive will not train its broad discretionary powers upon its political enemies? The threat, even if not the actuality, would always be present, and the Executive's obligation to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed" present, and the Executive's obligation to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed" would lose its meaning. (emphasis added) U.S. CONST. art. II, 3; see also id. art. II, 1, cl. 8.

Florida has a "state immigration law" and a well-documented police brutality problem. Quebec and Ontario license plates are easily identifiable in Miami or Tampa. While the Ron DeSatan is enacting immigration laws, white Floridians are free to buy firearms to butcher people in the Sunshine State. Visiting Canadians can easily get shot by Republican maniacs like Phoenix Ikner. Another reason for Canadians to quit Florida for good.
