... On a call with reporters Thursday, Cornyn called it "a dramatic and historic effort to get reimbursement for the State of Texas for Operation Lone Star." He said the legislation will be part of the reconciliation budget package for Fiscal Year 2026 that is currently being debated in Congress. He blamed the Biden administration and said Texas incurred these costs because it was necessary to secure the border under the previous administration. "President Biden's border policies, his open border policies, have been a disaster for the country and for Texas in particular. And Texas did what it could, using the resources that it could to fill the gap, while the federal government, whose responsibility it is to secure the border, did virtually nothing," Cornyn said. ...

Texas should have not have had to do what is the purview of the US Govt, but during the biden administration our libbie dem govt FAILED in performance of their legal responsibilities on protecting our boarder. IMO Texas should be compensated.

I agree Texas should be compensated.
I think Texas should be compensated by Texans.
You think Texas should be compensated by Californians and New Yorkers.
You fail at taking accountability for your own actions.

#5: Good shot! Didn't the Texas Land Commissioner give the Trumpf junta free land to establish a mega-concentration camp there to house and expedite America's ethnic cleansing?

@#4 ... Texas should have not have had to do what is the purview of the US Govt ...
Whether or not they should have done that is up to Texas to decide.
That Texas has done that without the approval of Congress for the expenditures means that Texas should pay for it themselves.
