"There was finally a sense of calm," said Rebecca Shi, CEO of the American Business Immigration Coalition.

... That respite didn't last long.

On Wednesday, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin declared, "There will be no safe spaces for industries who harbor violent criminals or purposely try to undermine (immigration enforcement) efforts. Worksite enforcement remains a cornerstone of our efforts to safeguard public safety, national security and economic stability.''

The flipflop baffled businesses trying to figure out the government's actual policy, and Shi says now "there's fear and worry once more."

"That's not a way to run business when your employees are at this level of stress and trauma," she said. ...

On the other hand, Pres Trump has said ....

www.axios.com

... He took to Truth Social to say some workers here illegally, working on farms or hotels, are actually "very good, long time workers." ...

So, which are they? criminals or "very good, long time workers?"

And yes, I do readily admit that some undocumented immigrant in the Country may be the viscous criminals that MAGA supporters make them out to be.

But, what about the rest, who support our economy as "very good, long time workers?"

... The Trump administration's immigration crackdown is having an unexpected impact -- not at the southern border, but inside nursing homes across the United States.

Foreign-born caregivers make up 30% of the nursing home housekeeping and maintenance workforce, according to data from LeadingAge, an association of nonprofit providers of aging services. That's compared to 19% of the overall workforce, according to Labor Department data.

As Trump pledges mass deportation, he's creating more undocumented people
www.nbcnews.com

... More than 1 million people who were granted legal entry to the country under different programs are now considered here illegally by the Trump administration.

Florndjie Camey, 31, had gone from a bleak future in Haiti to hope for a new life; she had landed a cashier's job in her new city of Miami after coming to the country legally with a sponsor. Then, President Donald Trump declared that she and more than 1 million other people did not have legal permission to stay in the country.

Trump, seeking to go down in history as the president who carried out the largest mass deportation in U.S. history, deemed that the Biden administration program that allowed Camey and hundreds of thousands of others to legally enter the U.S was actually illegal.

Trump has pledged to clear the country of people who are illegally here, but the new criteria is expected to significantly expand the pool of undocumented immigrants. ...

@#5

Yes, you did.

But, if you may allow me to be so bold to add ...

OK, Pres Trump is drastically reducing the amount of money that goes towards providing nursing home care for our elderly.

And now Pres Trump seems to be targeting the very employees of those nursing homes.

I have to ask, why does Pres Trump seem to hate the elderly in the Country?
