Marriage equality?
Obama had nothing to do with it.
Zero.
Nada.
Zilch.
Matter of fact. Obama felt the states should determine what they want to do about marriage equality.
Most democrats were ambivalent or against marriage equality before they were for them.

SCOTUS handed you Marriage Equality. Not Obama and definitely not Joe Biden, neither wanted anything to do with it.

SCOTUS handed you Marriage Equality.
Eventually.
After 37 states had already voted to legalize it.
Before 2015, when the Supreme Court ruled in Obergefell v. Hodges that same-sex marriage was a constitutional right, 37 states and the District of Columbia had legalized same-sex marriage in some capacity. en.m.wikipedia.org

Homosexuals fought for our civil rights.

Can we get it all out in the open?
The US generally has no problems with childless white lesbians. As Jack Lemmon said in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, "Lesbians? Yummy."
All other lgbtqia++, ick.
Except for people who really have a problem with them.
They end up with wide stances and reshapen jaws, and are strangely interested in trans sports stories.
