Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., sidestepped a question Sunday about whether he supports New York City's Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, a self-described democratic socialist who recently defeated Andrew Cuomo in the primary. During an interview on CNN, host Manu Raju pressed Booker on whether the Democratic Party is failing to embrace its left flank. He specifically brought up Mamdani, asking, "Democratic leaders are not supporting him. Is that a problem? Do you support him?" Booker dodged the endorsement, shifting the conversation away from ideological labels. "This is not a left-right issue," he said. "It is an authoritarian versus pragmatic government issue. I'm one of those people who believes the ties that bind us are stronger than the lines that divide us."

No surprises. Most, not all, AIPAC Democrats oppose Zohran Mamdani. One of the exceptions is Congressman Jerry Nadler who strongly supports Zohran as a repudiation of Trumpf and the oligarchs. Chuck Schumer may also support Zohran now as a matter of political survival.

Gosh, hardworking, peace-loving American taxpayers are tired of faux Christians and ersatz Democrats doing their darndest to put the interests of nuclear-armed Israel (who has universal health care for all of its residents unlike the US) ahead of the interests of the American people. Like a Soviet politburo, these hypocritical Democratic and Republican Congressmen enjoy robust salaries and platinum health benefits, insulated from the travails of the 99.9999999%, while receiving AIPAC funding. Meanwhile, poor Americans are starting to borrow money to buy groceries or pay for medical expenses.

Zohran Mamdani's plans can ease the problems of poor New Yorkers, easily paid for by increasing taxes on Wall Street. I wonder how much revenue a $1 per Wall Street transaction would generate to pay for inexpensive groceries and free bus services for poor Gothamites?
