World Awaits Landmark SCOTUS Decision on Trump's Tariffs

The Trump administration heads to the US Supreme Court on Wednesday, facing off against small businesses and a group of states who contend most of the tariffs it has put in place are illegal and should be struck down.

The president does not have authority to set tariffs by abusing an emergency power. 200+ members of Congress filed an amicus brief in our tariffs lawsuit, agreeing. We'll be at the Supreme Court next week making the case for why the court needs to hold the president accountable.

On Sunday, the president said he will not attend the hearing in person as he did not want to cause a distraction. "I wanted to go so badly... I just don't want to do anything to deflect the importance of that decision," he said. "It's not about me, it's about our country."

Anybody who believes that Scotus is not conspiring with Trump to destroy the US democracy needs an ice water enema just to clear their minds.

MAGA SCOTUS Judges are as guilty as Trump.

imo, regardless of how SCOTUS rules, Pres Trump is going to continue to use tariffs to soothe his ego when it hurts.

If SCOTUS rules against him, then it may be more difficult, and more procedural, for Pres Trump to institute tariffs in the name of an "unusual and extraordinary threat" against the national security of the Country, as he has been doing.

An example of such a threat at that level, to Pres Trump, seems to be at the egregious behavior of a leader of a Canadian province taking out a TV ad correctly quoting fmr Pres Reagan.

So, yeah, maybe no more tariffs based upon the whims of a bruised ego. Or not. Who knows.

He just won't be able to institute those tariffs so easily if the cause is his bruised ego.

If Trump gets told that he overplayed his tariff hand, the money would have to be returned to...just who exactly?
As it is, Trump's major claim to fame is that he delivered a great big beautiful tax cut to his oligarch caste...and that was only possible with the money from the tariffs to offset the lack of taxes.
I wildly distrust this federal Supreme Court since he put three liars onto it, people who said they believed in settled law and all. I think one thing is certain, Trump will somehow profit and the poor will be screwed,,, that is the contract his administration has ON the poor and the powerless in America.
