Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, November 06, 2025

A US Army website for its bases in Bavaria, Germany published a list of food banks in the area that could help soldiers and staff as part of its "Shutdown Guidance," the subtext being that soldiers and base employees might need to obtain free food from German government services during the government shutdown. The webpage included information about which services are affected by the ongoing shutdown of the federal government, FAQs about how to work during a furlough, and links to apply for emergency loans. After the shutdown guidance's publication, the US Army changed it and removed the list of food banks, but the original has been archived here. The US Army Garrison Bavaria is the army's largest group outside the US with around 36,000 troops stationed across four facilities in Germany. The German government will pay 11,000 local employees at US military facilities as a show of good faith, anticipating repayment when the shutdown is resolved.

The US cannot pay its military and our Soldiers have to go to food banks or borrow money to feed their families, but Dummkopf Trumpf and the Republican Party are ready to wage war on Venezuela, Colombia, Mexican drug cartels, Nigeria, our own citizens through the Army National Guard, as well as participate in an idiotic one-sided peacekeeping mission in the Gaza Strip. Uh-huh. Earlier this year the incompetent Trumpf junta destroyed thousands of tons of food stored in USAID warehouses which could have been used to help poor people in the Third World or our very own Soldiers and their families. Food banks in the US like the one you see below have been helping our Soldiers during the Republican Party government shutdown, no thanks to Dummkopf Trumpf.

Worst. President. Ever.

We can't feed our own Soldiers or keep our skies safe, but this Republican ignoramus Alabama senator wants to attack Nigeria because 60,000 Christians have been killed over the past few years in tribal fighting over scarce resources and government corruption.

70,000 Palestinians have been killed in two years and there is no talk of invading Israel.

Listen to the idiotic warmongering senator bray about attacking a nation of 237.5m people on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean: twitter.com

Sheer lunacy even if our own people weren't starving.

Racism is expensive. But it's nice change to see the "inclusive" face of poverty.
