Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Donald Trump has cast himself as Republicans' chief messenger on the cost of living in an election year, but a Reuters review of his speeches shows a president repeatedly declaring inflation beaten while rarely acknowledging the strain many Americans say they still feel.

In five speeches on the economy since December, Trump asserted that inflation had been beaten or was way down almost 20 times and said prices were falling almost 30 times, assertions at odds with economic data and voters' daily experiences. Much of the remaining time was spent on grievances and other issues, including immigration, whether Somalia was a country, and attacks on opponents.

Like Biden, there isn't a whole lot the POTUS can actually do about inflation for most cases. Turnip's part in this is the tariffs that made everything more expensive for the manufactures and the public. He can't accept fault so he gaslights. Only thing is the consumer isn't fooled anytime they have to buy something. It can't be hidden by claiming otherwise. This one is a loosing battle and he had only to look at Biden's attempts at this to see it.

Turnip has focused on Democratic cities in placing ICE, holding up funding (which he constantly loses in court), placing blame, and attempting to dilute the vote into his favor. He'll no more accept the vote outcome this midseason than he accepted his loss at the polls to Biden. Everyone was tired of the chaos he constantly stirred up and nothing has changed in that except for how brutal it's become. Voters looked for anyone that wasn't Turnip, just to end it. We are looking at the same thing all over again, come midseason elections.
