"Under the Labor government of Israeli PM Gold Meir, the Mossad attempted to expel 60,000 Palestinians to Paraguay soon after occupying the Gaza Strip in 1967. Tel Aviv would pay authoritarian General Alfredo Stroessner's Paraguayan government a fee of $33 per deportee, including an advance of $350,000 for the first 10,000. Almost six decades later, Israel's methods and objectives to ethnically cleanse Palestinians remain eerily similar."

Since 1948 under both Democratic and Republican Party administrations, the peace-loving, hardworking American taxpayer has sent the Labor and Likud governments of Israel, a prosperous and nuclear-armed country, $317.9bn, the most US economic aid given to any nation in the world while they ethnically cleanse and oppress the Palestinian people.

Unlike the US, Israel provides world class universal healthcare for its residents and maintains a superior social security system (B+) to America's (C+). Source: US funds ethnic cleansing while we have the BBB, medical bankruptcies, and government insolvency

Inexplicably, the Democratic Party doesn't publicly release the autopsy report explaining why 6,265,888 supporters they had on Tuesday 3 Nov 2020 decided to stay home on Tuesday 5 Nov 2024. These antiwar Samaritans did not waste their vote on either oligarch Dummkopf Trumpf or Green Party candidate Jill Stein (who received a meager 861,142 votes nationwide).

Republicans don't want a full release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Democrats don't want a full release of the 2024 election autopsy report.

Early on, the Egyptian, Saudi, and Jordanian governments pushed the US hard behind the scenes to pressure Israel into embracing UN Security Council Resolution 242 (en.wikipedia.org), adopted unanimously in the wake of the 1967 war. I bumped into one of more than a few messengers emanating across the seas towards DC working on behalf of this effort. This was the 1969-era, with the three aforementioned powers regarding the Syrians and Iraqis as, and I quote, "savages" and "animals." That threesome of nations had some pretty good heft as a bloc in those days. The problem, then as now, lay in Israel's territorial ambitions. The reward for implementing g Resolution 242 was, according to a waverider with whom I spoke, summed up in a single word: "petrochemicals." They weren't kidding.

So here we are now, well over fifty years later, shilling for an expansionist ethnonationalist rogue state and worrying about ... what was that word again? Oh, yes: petrochemicals.

Hi Doc Sarvis:

Great vignette about "petro-chemicals" from the era of Western Union telegrams and urban messengers.

During the 1967 Six Day War, the USS Liberty spy ship intercepted communications about IDF troops committing war crimes (shooting captured Egyptians), so Tel Aviv ordered the IDF to disable its antennae, killing and wounding scores of Sailors, as you are aware.

LBJ was furious, but Tel Aviv cajoled and convinced the anti-communist Mandarins in Washington to "let it go" as this shameful incident would give the USSR political points in the middle of the escalating Vietnam War. The highly competent and smooth-talking Israel FM Abba Eban succeeded, an apologia was rendered, and the cover-up began.

This political victory over the US informed Tel Aviv that framing issues in a Cold War context would succeed. Emboldened, this Mossad scheme to depopulate the occupied territories of Palestinians coalesced. The plan was well-received as the reputable Mossad had abducted Adolph Eichmann from Argentina for unspeakable war crimes against Jews in the Holocaust.

Cultural Implications for the US

America's fabled "Summer of Love" was taking place amid the Six-Day War, the USS Liberty incident, and escalating casualties in Vietnam.

And something subtle and sinister began happening in Hollywood.

Cinematically, Arabs and Muslims were no longer portrayed as comical, neutral, goofy, or competent, but strictly as the "bad guy."

Previously, Elvis Presley portrayed a handsome singing Arab prince, Abbott and Costello had adventures in Algeria and Egypt (fighting the Mummy), and a Turkish police inspector was quite competent in Topkapi (which later gave birth to the TV series Mission Impossible.

After 1967, this all changed in Hollywood.

You can read about this insidious shift in subtly vilifying Muslims and Arabs on the big screen in this book:

This subliminal messaging made Islamophobia, the post-9/11 vengeance campaign (AKA the "Global War on Islam" (GWOT), and ethnic cleansing in Israel easier to sell to the American masses and Soldiers, as we've seen this century.
