Mullins, the UConn men's basketball team's freshman guard, hit a 35-footer with 0.4 seconds left on Sunday to cap an incredible 73-72 comeback win over Duke in the East Regional finals and send the Huskies to their eighth Final Four. UConn (33-5) will face South Regional champion Illinois on Saturday at 6:09 p.m. (TBS/truTV) at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis -- Mullins' hometown.

... The Indiana kid's going back to Indianapolis!," shouted Alex Karaban, whose record-breaking UConn career now moves on to its own third Final Four.

This was a comeback for the ages. UConn trailed by 19 late in the first half and could never get over the hump in the latter half until the very end. Silas Demary Jr. hit one of two free throws with 10 seconds left and Duke inbounded the ball and broke UConn's pressure. ...

I guess this basketball stuff was the reason the shows I wanted to watch were pre-empted?

You're an idiot.

We were in the Vesper bar watching Duke berate UConn in the first half but that ending was a stain it'll take another 2 championships to erase. There's 5 seconds left, you're up 2, hold the ------- ball, idiot

Just watched the clip.

Listening to those idiot commentators reminds me why I don't watch this s*&^.

"UTTERLY IMPOSSIBLE!

"MARCH MEANS DRAMA!"

It's a meaningless f*&^ing basketball game and you have two grown men screaming about it like it matters.

What a waste of time to do anything more than casually watch this over-hyped garbage.

It's always funny to me how people love to belittle something if they are not a fan of it.

It's always funny to me how people whine when an absurdity of their behavior is pointed out.

The dude made a 3 pointer. Something he's probably done thousands of times. It certainly wasn't "UTTERLY IMPOSSIBLE!"

And another grown man yelling "MARCH MEANS DRAMA" coupled with all the usual battle and war and "sacrifice" type imagery that goes into the marketing schemes for this trash...

Y'all are lead by the nose and you don't even know it.

Having a kid play in the band for football and basketball there is an energy to these things. It's a fun diversion from reality. I went to a march madness game to see the band and cheer the team on. Last second buzzer beaters in high profile games is something a lot of us growing up role played over and over in our driveways shooting baskets. To be so negatively jaded against something that is really just pure enjoyment is honestly kind of sad.

"Y'all are lead by the nose and you don't even know it."

I think you're missing the point. For roughly 99% of these kids, it's their last hurrah...kids at near-peaks of their athleticism and skills. And as KWRX25 pointed out, there are few sources of energy more powerful than an entire student body aimed at one goal. Not to mention...that sound, from the crowd on a buzzer-beater, is like no other. I think the NCAA tournaments are a joy to watch.

Also, I'm always stuck at my desk the whole time, so it's a great diversion for a week or two!

Side tale: 25 years back I had to tape WS Game 7 in Arizona, and had the TV running live while I did (old, old VCR tech). I closed the door so I couldn't hear anything, or so I thought. Later that evening I was walking past, and even at a low volume, heard the unmistakable sound of a stadium that had just won the World Series.

Spoiler Alert!

some coach on duke bench HAD to yell at the guy to get the ball in and stand there...he didn't have to even cross the mid court line....yeah 10 seconds were left but even if they called it.

Uconn would have gotten the ball at the 10 second line with less than a second on the clock.

35 foot three pointers AND under that pressure was spectacular but should have

never been attempted.

too bad because the UCONN coach is a total douche.
