Spirit Airlines destinations: Florida-based Spirit Airlines Employs 11,331 People

Executives from several low-cost carriers are expected to meet with wholly incompetent Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy early next week. The completely confused Trumpf junta requested the meeting to review the financial health of the nation's smaller airlines after Trumpf's idiotic policies have crippled them and his deployment of heavily armed and masked ICE Sturmabteilung at US airports have made air travelers even more wary and anxious to fly.

'President Plane Crash' is destroying the US aviation industry and the quality of life for everyday American airline passengers.

What are the naming rights worth?
Just because he failed at an airline once doesn't mean he's smart enough to avoid getting burned twice.
A shiny gold paint job on all the planes?

Jet fuel prices double, leading airlines to increase baggage fees, raise fares
www.npr.org

... Jet fuel prices have roughly doubled since the start of the war in Iran, a price increase even sharper than the spikes seen in gasoline and diesel.

In response, airlines around the world are cutting routes, raising fares, adding fuel surcharges and boosting baggage fees.

In Asia, some countries have been rationing fuel and restricting exports to cope with the profound shock to fuel supplies and to jet fuel in particular. "This is an Asian crisis," says George Shaw, an analyst at the trade analytics firm Kpler. "They're in a worse position than anyone else."

In Europe, several groups have raised alarm bells. Fatih Birol, the head of the International Energy Agency, recently told the Associated Press that Europe has "maybe six weeks or so [of] jet fuel left." ...

Another regional airline shut down overnight, all flights off
www.thestreet.com

... With jet fuel prices hovering at highs unseen for years due to the war in Iran, many smaller regional and charter airlines that already faced a tough market are at particular risk of bankruptcies and shutdowns.

In Europe, charter airline H-Bird was declared bankrupt by a Swedish judge earlier this month, while Mexican holiday airline Magnicharters just canceled all flights for two weeks in a situation that left hundreds of travelers stranded at popular vacation destinations across the country.

The abrupt shutdown left the Mexican government having to step in, working with larger airlines such as Aeromexico and Volaris to get travelers on evacuation flights.

In another shutdown that came very suddenly, German aviation giant Lufthansa revealed that it is permanently discontinuing its regional brand CityLine.

Established just five years after Lufthansa in 1958, the regional carrier served as a feeder airline, getting travelers from different cities in Europe to their flights at major airports such as Frankfurt (FRA) and Munich (MUN). ...

Spirit Airlines reportedly on the verge of shutting down amid bankruptcy, rising fuel costs
abc7ny.com

... Spirit Airlines is reportedly on the verge of shutting down as the company struggles to recover from bankruptcy amid rising fuel costs.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, the airline could liquidate as soon as this week, and skyrocketing fuel prices due to the war in Iran are a likely culprit.

Spirit is the nation's leading ultra-low-cost airline, known for its yellow planes and no-frills service. It operates out of the small but historic Terminal A at LaGuardia Airport.

The Florida-based airline is currently working through its second bankruptcy and last month announced it would restructure with updated fleets, premium ticket options, and a focus on its strongest routes like Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and at LaGuardia, and Newark too. ...
